Isle Of Tides
A New Album By Eden's Bridge
These songs are fresh and knew and by those who have heard them state that they are the best yet that Eden's Bridge have written.
In speaking with David Bird, Sarah Lacy and Richard Lacy about 'Isle Of Tides' they reflected that they feel this album is a wonderful progression and the next step for them following their Celtic Worship series with EMI. They have had time to craft the songs and create the music that they are so passionate about. Isle of Tides is an actual place, but more than that - it is a place of spiritual retreat and fulfilment - as the tide washes in refreshing, renewing and granting His peace.

Overview:

Eden's Bridge - Isle of Tides

Inspiration...
There is an island off the west coast of Britain, known as the Isle of Tides. Climb the hills of the peninsula and you will see it resting beneath the sky, a peaceful jewel in a timeless sea. Today the island is still, but in distant times, it held an abbey and, it is said, a thousand saints are buried there. Here we found our inspiration for this album.

Our Theme...
The songs and music of this album reflect the many facets of this special place - space for contemplation, the joy of new discovery and the constant movement of the Spirit of God. The key theme is that of pilgrimage, those of our distant Christian forebears but also our own spiritual pilgrimages with God. The focus is both inspiration and meditation.

The Songs...
The theme of the album weaves together the songs that call the listener to move on with God ("Creator of Creation"), with invitations to contemplation ("Sail Away"). Awareness of God's promises ("The Earth Waits") links to our daily lives ("Where you Search"). The sound is both spacious and direct. Sometimes soft and meditative, bound with low whistle and hand percussion. Sometimes powerful and uplifting, with rich vocal textures and full instrumentation. Musical comparisons could include Clannad, or perhaps in places, Enya. The Celtic stylings are immediately recognisable.
The album is unmistakably Eden's Bridge.

We invite you to travel with us on a spiritual pilgrimage ...to the Isle of Tides.

Who Is Eden's Bridge

Eden's Bridge is a group of musicians located in Yorkshire, England. The band members comprise of:

Richard Lacy: A 28 year old recording engineer and musician whom for the last nine years has owned his own studio in Yorkshire, England.
Sarah Lacy: Richard's sister who is a city planner involved in the development, expansion and ecological control of city and rural growth.
David Bird: A forensic psychologist who is currently head of the psychology department at a secure unit for mentally disordered offenders.
Jon Large: An industrial chemist.
Terl Bryant: A musician who for the last nine years has been involved in the group Iona playing drums and percussion.

Background
Richard and Sarah's grandmother, who passed away in the early ë90s, used to play the piano at silent movies and was also involved in missions all of her life. This rich heritage has been passed down through the family to each generation. Sarah, who is the lead vocalist for Eden's Bridge, has had no vocal training but she learned to play the piano, organ and guitar at a very young age. David Bird was the Head Chorister at St. Margaret's Church in Westminster as a child and has continued musically as a guitar session player with numerous bands and recordings.

Richard Lacy and Jon Large have known each other for many years after meeting at an annual Christian camp in the Lake District that they were working. Jon and Richard continue this work today. Terl Bryant left the group Iona approximately six months ago to spend more time with his growing family of three children. Terl has since joined Eden's Bridge.

Songwriting and Recording
Sarah Lacy and David Bird write most of the lyrics for Eden's Bridge. Their lyrics stem primarily from both their life experience and the process of working out their faith in their day to day lives. David, Sarah and Richard describe how the music and lyrics combine together as Sarah and David cutting out the pieces of a jigsaw while Richard joins it all together to make it complete It is this synergy that can take these lyrics together with the music to build a musical foundation that supports the heart and mission of their songs.

Sales Success
Since September 1997, Eden's Bridge have released seven albums through EMI Christian Music Group, these are:
